We are a grassroots coalition of parents, who came together in the spring of 2004, because we were concerned about the budget cuts that were being proposed by the school district.

Torrance Parents Organization uses the strengths and resources available within our community to help reach three major goals:

1) to supplement shrinking state funds, which currently affect class sizes;

2) to increase legislative exposure;

3) to be a conduit for for communication on education issues in Torrance.

Update:
As of June 2005, with the close of the fundraising endeavor between TEF and TPO, "Bridge the Gap", we have accomplished our first goal. We would have liked to help offset class sizes in grades 4-12, but time was not on our side. The goal was $160,000, but we have received over $190,000 in donations.
